|概況

新南威爾士大學(xué)(The University of New South Wales，簡稱UNSW，當(dāng)?shù)厝A人稱紐修威大學(xué))，為澳大利亞八大名校(Group of Eight)所組成的高校成員，也是Universitas 21聯(lián)盟的一員。新南威爾士大學(xué)創(chuàng)建于1949年，是一所在澳大利亞處于領(lǐng)先地位的國際化大學(xué)。作為澳大利亞排名最高的學(xué)府之一，新南威爾士大學(xué)目前有40000本土學(xué)生及超過8000的海外留學(xué)生。

38公頃的KENSINGTON主校區(qū)位于澳大利亞新南威爾士州悉尼大都會;距離悉尼市中心約5公里。藝術(shù)學(xué)院享有獨(dú)立的PADDINGTON校區(qū)，位于悉尼近郊。

|學(xué)校歷史

根據(jù)UNSW官方網(wǎng)站敘述，校史最早可以回溯至1878年所創(chuàng)立的悉尼技術(shù)學(xué)院(Sydney Technical College)，及更早創(chuàng)校于1843年的悉尼機(jī)械學(xué)院(Sydney Mechanics Institute)。UNSW正式創(chuàng)立于1949年，最初命名為新南威爾士科技大學(xué)(New South Wales University of Technology)，專注于工程學(xué)與科學(xué)。1958年，為了適應(yīng)大學(xué)的全面教育改革，使學(xué)校變成一個現(xiàn)代多元化的學(xué)府，校名改為新南威爾士大學(xué)(University of New South Wales)。1960年學(xué)校創(chuàng)立了社會文科學(xué)院(Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences)，隨后1961年創(chuàng)立了醫(yī)學(xué)院和1971年法學(xué)院。大學(xué)最初二十年的發(fā)展和當(dāng)時充滿活力的校長(Sir Philip Baxter)緊密相連。Baxter校長宏偉而不失爭議的眼光讓學(xué)校從一個默默無聞的地位一躍成為澳洲頂尖的大學(xué)。1969年UNSW有15000名的學(xué)生。學(xué)校對科技研究的精進(jìn)和實(shí)踐精神與當(dāng)時悉尼大學(xué)的傳統(tǒng)校風(fēng)有著鮮明的對比。在Baxter校長退休的1969年，UNSW已成為亞太地區(qū)最頂尖的大學(xué)之一。第二任校長(Sir Rupert Myers)努力鞏固了前二十年的基礎(chǔ)，將新一代的管理制度帶進(jìn)了學(xué)校。Myer校長同時也改變了校風(fēng)，他特別注重校園文化的建設(shè)，學(xué)生運(yùn)動在其任期內(nèi)得到了校方的保護(hù)并有著長足的進(jìn)步和發(fā)展。第三任校長(Prof. Michael Birt)在澳洲國會八十年代縮緊教育和研究資金的情形下，負(fù)責(zé)領(lǐng)導(dǎo)學(xué)校進(jìn)入公私兼營的模式。大學(xué)學(xué)院透過與私人公司的合作研究彼此相關(guān)的事務(wù)，雙贏互利，使得學(xué)校與企業(yè)的需求有了更緊密的聯(lián)系，對于人才的培養(yǎng)亦更加貼近社會的實(shí)際需求。目前UNSW的年度資金有45%來自于非政府的來源。這讓UNSW避免了當(dāng)時其他大學(xué)資金缺乏的困境，不斷保持強(qiáng)勁的發(fā)展動力。

|學(xué)校特色

UNSW共有9大學(xué)院，分別是文學(xué)暨社會科學(xué)學(xué)院，建筑環(huán)境學(xué)院，商學(xué)院，工學(xué)院，法學(xué)院，醫(yī)學(xué)院，科學(xué)學(xué)院，旗下另外2所學(xué)院--藝術(shù)學(xué)院和澳大利亞國防學(xué)院分別位于悉尼近郊的派丁頓(Paddington)和首都堪培拉。

|院校特色

新南威爾士大學(xué)同時注重與國際的交流，它的辦學(xué)風(fēng)格美國化，與傳統(tǒng)的英制大學(xué)有明顯區(qū)別，因此吸引了眾多美國學(xué)生透過國際交換學(xué)生方案（International Exchange Program）前往UNSW學(xué)習(xí)，學(xué)時半年或一年不等。同時，學(xué)校鼓勵學(xué)生在大學(xué)期間前往世界其他優(yōu)秀大學(xué)進(jìn)行交流，目前已與世界160余所優(yōu)秀的頂尖學(xué)府有廣泛合作，其中比較有代表性的包括與美國柏克萊加州大學(xué)、賓夕法尼亞大學(xué)華頓商學(xué)院等的海外研修合作。同時也與中國北京大學(xué)、清華大學(xué)、臺灣中央研究院等院校發(fā)展學(xué)術(shù)交流。特色課程也設(shè)有工程專業(yè);光伏、太陽能與可再生能源;商學(xué)、金融與會計;設(shè)計、媒體與創(chuàng)意產(chǎn)業(yè)等。

|學(xué)校設(shè)施

新南威爾士大學(xué)的圖書館擁有大量的藏書和期刊。主要的收藏有200萬冊書籍，視聽材料和地圖等。圖書分類和管理系統(tǒng)采用計算機(jī)管理，學(xué)生可以通過計算機(jī)用戶終端查詢。圖書館的計算機(jī)可以進(jìn)入澳洲學(xué)術(shù)、研究網(wǎng)，可以通過國際互聯(lián)網(wǎng)進(jìn)入世界范圍的計算機(jī)數(shù)據(jù)庫，通過衛(wèi)星連接美洲和歐洲的主數(shù)據(jù)庫。校內(nèi)運(yùn)動設(shè)施包括具奧運(yùn)會水平的50米室內(nèi)游泳池，羽毛球場，壁球場，網(wǎng)球館，橄欖球場，體育館。校內(nèi)經(jīng)常舉辦音樂會及其他文化聚會。此外，校內(nèi)約有100多個俱樂部和社會團(tuán)體，涉及運(yùn)動，文化，社會，宗教，業(yè)余愛好和學(xué)術(shù)等諸多領(lǐng)域。

|學(xué)校住宿

校內(nèi)有七座宿舍，提供單人或雙人房給學(xué)生申請。每星期的平均花費(fèi)約澳幣A$327-429元之間。另外，還有由校方設(shè)立的公寓式住宅，內(nèi)附家具和廚房，學(xué)生只需自行準(zhǔn)備個人用品，洗衣設(shè)備和停車都很方便，房租一星期約澳幣 A$327-429元(單人房或兩間房)。所有到達(dá)悉尼的學(xué)生，如果沒有親友到機(jī)場迎接，學(xué)校宿舍管理員可以安排接機(jī)和轉(zhuǎn)送服務(wù)。她還會協(xié)助安排膳宿。學(xué)生可以選擇各種各樣的短期或長期膳宿。包括：內(nèi)宿學(xué)院、寄宿家庭;如果已滿18歲，還可以與其他學(xué)生合租一套公寓。新南威爾士大學(xué)的預(yù)科生，不但可以為進(jìn)入大學(xué)深造打下牢固的基礎(chǔ)，而且可以在Kensington新建的內(nèi)宿學(xué)院享受最高檔的安全膳宿。

    The minimum entrance requirement is completion of an Honours Class 1 or high Class 2 degree in Psychology from the University of New South Wales or from a recognised APAC university. Psychology qualifications from overseas must consist of a research thesis component and also be assessed as equivalent to an Australian four-year undergraduate degree (including Honours) by the Australian Psychological Society (APS). See the APS website (www.psychology.org.au) for more details. Selection is based on academic qualifications for the program. As the number of places is limited, entry into the program is competitive. Referees reports will be sought for applicants who are shortlisted and an interview may be required.
    The program consists of three components, all of which are compulsory: 1. Coursework (weekly lectures and seminars with associated written forms of assessment) 2. Professional practice (completion of a minimum of 1000 hours of supervised practice in forensic settings and Skills Training Workshops) 3. A research thesis. The three components total 96 units of credit (48 in each stage).
