The active Social Policy research base in the School of Social and Political Sciences ensures that staff who teach on this programme are involved in current Social Policy debates and that students are made aware of new developments and issues in the area. Each research student is supported by research training.

Registration for the MPhil/PhD or PhD allows you to devise and pursue a chosen topic of enquiry under the supervision of staff with expertise in that area.

With an emphasis on applied theory, practical work and community engagement, this programme aims to provide students with a multidisciplinary understanding of sport science with an option to specialise in a particular area.
Our MSc Sports Therapy aims to prepare students to apply sports science knowledge and principles to the assessment and treatment of injuries within a sporting context. The course is designed to develop skills in pitch side first aid and trauma management, clinical injury assessment and competency in planning and implementing appropriate treatment and rehabilitation programmes for a range of sports injuries.
The BA (Hons) Art History and History course offers students the opportunity to explore the rich artistic and architectural heritage of the past, learning how to interrogate visual and material evidence critically and to construct arguments about societies and cultures, their values and identities. Students can do this alongside the study of texts, from medieval chronicles and modern archives to newspapers and film.
