The Master of Finance is designed for graduates who have completed a finance major in their undergraduate program and who are looking to develop their finance skills by studying more advanced finance topics. There are five streams: ?Master of Finance (General Finance) ?Master of Finance (Corporate Finance) ?Master of Finance (Funds Management) ?Master of Finance (International Finance) ?Master of Finance (Investment Banking)

To gain entry to this program, students must: 1.Have completed a Bachelor of Mathematics or a Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree with a major in mathematics or statistics; and 2.Have sufficient mathematical and/or statistical background, as indicated by an average of 65 or above in level III mathematics and/or statistics university courses.

The program is intended for students who have completed a degree in Mathematics or Statistics, or a Science degree with a major in mathematics or statistics, and who wish to further their knowledge of mathematical finance and statistics. The program offers intensive, high-level training in principles of financial modelling and its mathematical foundations, statistical techniques, risk assessment, and computational techniques of financial mathematics. The program was introduced in order to provide students with a route to high quality careers in the financial industry and to provide the financial sector with a stream of highly trained specialists in Quantitative Finance. In addition, the program will provide a means of obtaining the necessary preparation for further research in mathematical finance.

There are five streams: ?Master of Finance (General Finance) ?Master of Finance (Corporate Finance) ?Master of Finance (Funds Management) ?Master of Finance (International Finance) ?Master of Finance (Investment Banking) The Master of Finance program is taught on-campus. The typical duration is one year of full-time study and 2-4 years part-time. Entry to this program requires a Bachelor degree with a major in finance from a recognised institution (or overseas qualifications deemed equivalent) with a credit average overall, and with a credit average in the finance undergraduate major or equivalent. Candidates must also have demonstrated competence in mathematical and statistical methods. The Master of Finance is developed and managed in close consultation with the finance sector and offers advanced disciplinary depth, exposing students to latest thinking and current research in finance. Applied learning activities, both in and out of classroom, ensure participants are familiar with and can undertake critical analysis of the latest theories, techniques and practices in a chosen subject area.

To be eligible for the program, you must have: A recognised bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) with a credit average (65% or higher) as determined by the UNSW Postgraduate Coursework Entry Calculator; and A major (at least seven courses) in finance within the bachelor degree; and A credit average (65% or higher) within the finance major, as determined by the UNSW Postgraduate Coursework Entry Calculator The UNSW English Language requirements also apply to this program.

The Master of Finance is a 1 year degree program consisting of 8 courses (48 UOC); 4 core advanced finance courses, plus 4 elective courses.
