帝國理工學院計算機科學專業(yè)有兩種模式:
一種是標準模式,適合有專業(yè)背景的學生學習;
另外一種是特別模式,提供給沒有計算機相關背景的學生,為沒有計算機專業(yè)背景卻對計算機感興趣的學生提供了機會。

注重理論研究,相對來說缺少應用性和操作性;
計算機科學專業(yè)開設的課程是MSC課程,適合那些希望在應用職業(yè)方向發(fā)展的學生;
有些計算機專業(yè)開設的課程是MRes課程,適合那些希望在行業(yè)學術領域從事研究的學生。
倫敦大學學院
CS專業(yè)是UCL的招牌專業(yè),微軟,IBM,思科等名牌公司每年都過去直接招人,有的學生小組作業(yè)就是給微軟做project,之后還有微軟發(fā)的證書。

MSc旨在傳授高級計算機科學知識,適合想要在提升在IT相關職位或者繼續(xù)R&D中的計算機技能的學生。有堅實的計算機科學學位或者軟件工程的學位學生可以申請該學位。

專業(yè)名稱后加上with placement表示:可以付費進行7-10個月的實習或者工作,也就是會多讀一年,這一年中的7-10個月就是給同學完成placement的。
就讀有placement的專業(yè)的同學,在placement完成之后,再回校進行論文寫作和答辯。

其實,Computing with placement和Computing提供的課程是一模一樣的。Computing with placement也是五門必修課程,一門選修課程。只是可能課程時間安排得不太一樣。另外就是placement的差別了。
課程特色
卡大下設的計算機相關專業(yè)還算比較全面,不僅有傳統(tǒng)的計算機科學信息專業(yè),比如Advanced Computer Science,也有與管理相結合,并且適合本科非計算機專業(yè)的Computing & IT Management和Computing。
而Computing & IT Management和Computing的差別在于:
Computing著重于如何運用軟件解決企業(yè)中出現(xiàn)的問題,并且運用重要的計算機語言(比如java和python)來學習編程;
Computing & IT Management的課程中,雖然也會涉及到Computing中的部分內(nèi)容,但其實課程的重點還是放在了Management上,著重于如何運用軟件,電腦系統(tǒng)來支持企業(yè)運作,來管理IT人員。
其實,卡大計算機相關專業(yè)最特別之處就在于它的placement。
申請要求
Computing (with placement)/Computing & IT Management (with placement):
這兩(四)門專業(yè)要求申請者的本科專業(yè)是非計算機專業(yè);
非大學畢業(yè)的同學(也就是沒有學士學位的同學或者是沒有拿到畢業(yè)證書的同學),如果有相關的工作經(jīng)驗的話,校方也會予以考慮;
平均成績75分以上;
雅思總分6.5,單項不低于6。
