The aim of this program is to teach project management with significant theoretical underpinning to be implemented across various areas of work, industries, disciplines and cultures. The program prepares students for leadership in the project management profession.

The Master of Islam in the Modern World will take you on a journey through the various dynamics and debates surrounding and influencing contemporary Islam. The degree covers the relationship between Islam and dynamics such as politics, culture, political economy, and international relations. It exposes you to the great debates on Islam, such as its compatibility with democracy, its views towards modern economic and development ideas, and its role as an ideological and political force on the world stage. The degree also gives you expertise on Islam in various parts of the world, with courses focusing on, or using case studies from, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Europe, and elsewhere.

A graduate degree in Environmental Law will provide you with a sophisticated understanding of the law, and allow you to explore its origins and implementation, strengths and weaknesses. The Masters covers key areas of environmental law, from climate law to marine and coastal law, to commonwealth environmental law and environmental regulation. The courses examine the interrelationships between environmental law and policy, politics, economics, science and history. You will have the opportunity to study with many of Australia’s finest environmental lawyers and profoundly enhance your knowledge and credentials.

International law regulates the relations between States and with other actors at the international level and can affect society in a variety of ways, both internationally and at the domestic level. It helps us to explain and analyse interactions in the international community and their impact within national societies.

As various security challenges – both old and new – confront us, there is an ever greater need today for better understanding and critical evaluation of legal issues arising from various security concerns in light of the changing nature and perception of security in the contemporary, globalised world

The program introduces students to a range of theoretical and methodological tools and strengthens their ability to think critically and creatively about the links between law, governance and development. It includes a focus on historical shifts and current trends in law and development theory and practice, drawing on practical examples from Asia and the Pacific. Courses address highly topical issues such as law, order and state-building; legal pluralism and customary dispute resolution; displacement and resettlement of vulnerable groups; extractive industries and resource conflict; human rights and development; humanitarian and refugee law; climate change; international financial institutions; and anti-corruption.

Forestry encompasses the management of natural forests and woodlands, plantations and agroforestry through the practical application of scientific, economic and social principles. Sustainable management of forest resources requires both short-term management of variability and the ability to plan for the long-term sustainability of forest ecosystems. The Master of Forestry offers a flexible program of advanced learning to develop your knowledge and skills in forestry and the forest sciences and their relationship to other land management disciplines. The broad scope of the program reflects the diversity of perspectives needed for effective forest resource management, and the choice of courses within forestry sub-disciplines develops your knowledge in either the science and methods or policy and management aspects of forestry.
