The Master of Exercise Science will expose students to advanced level units within the various sub-disciplines that are informed by the latest research developments and contemporary professional practice. These sub-disciplines studies may include: clinical, sport and occupational biomechanics; exercise physiology; motor learning and control; sport, exercise, health and coaching psychology; physical activity promotion; and sport and recreation marketing and management.

This Master's specialisation is aimed at students wishing to undertake advanced study or research majoring in one of the sub-discipline areas within exercise science. There is a choice of postgraduate units within biomechanics; motor control and development; exercise physiology and biochemistry; health behaviour and performance psychology; and exercise rehabilitation.

To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must— (a) have completed the requirements for the degree of bachelor in an appropriate subject area from this University, or equivalent as recognised by the Board; and (b) have completed the requirements for a qualification in Art Practice from a recognised tertiary institution, or be judged by the Board, having regard to the recommendation of the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Visual Arts, to have equivalent practical expertise and professional standing; and (c) be able to satisfy the Board that they have the general ability to complete the course and the special ability to prepare and present a thesis.

The Master of Fine Arts consists of a combination of thesis and creative work. Students complete an exhibition of original artwork showing technical accomplishment and imaginative resource, an essay of 4500 to 5500 words on the work in the exhibition and a thesis on an aspect of arts theory, history or criticism.

To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have— (a) a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA and either (i) the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 60 percent; or (ii) a valid Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) score of at least 5501; or (iii) at least five years of relevant documented professional experience considered by UWA to be sufficient to permit satisfactory completion of the course; or (b) a UWA graduate certificate which articulates with this course with a weighted average mark of at least 65 per cent; or (c) a graduate certificate or equivalent from an equivalent and accredited course from another institution, with a weighted average mark of at least 70 per cent. 1GMAT is valid for 5 years.

The Master of Commerce is ideal for recent graduates seeking to develop further expertise to pursue careers in business. It is suited both to graduates with a non-business degree seeking a postgraduate qualification in business, as well as to business graduates wanting to add new area(s) of specialisation to their skillset. Students complete core units in ethics, economics, financial accounting, global business, management, and marketing.
